Insomniac Events donates EDC camping tents to shelter Hurricane Dorian victims

Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac Events have joined the Hurricane Dorian effort in a vital way, transporting 750 of its Shiftpod2 Advanced Shelter Systems to Bahamas via air to help over 5,000 victims left without a home in the storm’s aftermath. The Shiftpods, which were built to withstand harsh elements including wind, rain, and excessive heat, have been used over the past couple years to house tens of thousands of EDC attendees at the Las Vegas Speedway since the festival launched its camping program.

Dorian, clocking in as a Category 5 storm, has been measured as the strongest ever to hit the Bahamas since recordkeeping began, wreaking a great deal of havoc to the Northern region of the islands and reaching its peak damage level upon its landing. 43 were recorded dead within days of the tragedy, with hundreds still missing. Insomniac Event staff members are now on ground assisting in the rebuild, where they’re expected to help set up these new shelters for residents in need.

UNICEF is currently accepting funds for hurricane relief efforts as well; head here to donate.
