Depeche Mode foreshadow documentary depicting Global Spirits Tour [Watch Preview]
New wave electronic trailblazers of Depeche Mode will be releasing an Anton Corbijn-directed film titled SPIRITS in the Forest, which takes viewers on a journey through the group’s 2017-2018 Global Spirit Tour. Corbijn is a longtime collaborator with the group.
Depeche Mode performed a whopping 115 shows across the globe during the filming of the documentary. Although the film shows highlights of the group’s tour, the story is a fan-centric piece that follows six fans, in the time leading up to the band’s final stop on the tour in Berlin, at the famed Waldbühne (“Forest Stage”), interspersed with intimate documentary footage filmed in fans’ hometowns across the globe.
“I’m exceptionally proud to share this film and the powerful story that it tells,” said Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan. “It’s amazing to see the very real ways that music has impacted the lives of our fans.”
Depeche Mode has released a 60-second trailer preceding the film. The documentary will be in cinemas worldwide for one night only on November 21. Fans can check here to see if the documentary is playing in a city nearby.
