Diplo hints at new Jack Ü material with Skrillex underway
How to pique interest? Tease followers with the possibility of new Jack Ü music. It was a surefire formula for Diplo, who recently shared a cryptic video of himself dropping a remix of 2015 Jack Ü smash, “Where Are Ü Now,” on his Instagram account. “Comment if we should release some more Jack Ü,” he wrote. Needless to say, a flood of replies swiftly materialized in the comments section.
Diplo’s cryptic activity follows his admission to Rolling Stone that Jack Ü could return in 2020. “I think Skrillex has a lot of material he’s been gearing to release,” Diplo said in the October interview. “When that happens I think we might be able to do some new stuff, but I’ve worked on a to of ideas for the project. It’s all in due time. There’s not any rush for it or anything.” In the years since Jack Ü’s reign, both artists have since moved on from the joint project many times over. Though, a return to form in 2020 would bring two of music’s most globally in-demand producers together again, and Jack Ü 2.0 might be something entirely different the next time around.
