Kayzo releases menacing dubstep thrasher, ‘Lights Out’
October may be coming to an end, but Kayzo is just getting started. The dubstep aficionado not only welcomed his diverse sophomore album Unleashed filled with prolific features, but also revealed the creation of his label Welcome Records. In a dual showcase, Kayzo has released his first post-LP single and conjunctively, the first single from his upcoming Lil Comp of Horrors compilation, “Lights Out.” Lil Comp of Horrors (Vol. 1) will mark Welcome Records first-ever compilation and will encompass tracks from TYNAN, Lil Texas, Duke & Jones, and more. The compilation will arrive Oct. 30 via Welcome Records.
“Lights Out” takes on the essence of Kayzo’s rock-electronic hybrid mastery with its screamo vocal cuts, thrashing sound design, and frenetic energy. Clocking in at a short-lived 2 minutes and 20 seconds, the track wastes no time in raising the momentum with injections of metal guitar riffs, doom-laden choirs, and scathing dubstep drops. Devious guitar lines interchange back and forth with thumping bass in a conversation between hardcore rock and dubstep. With Halloween approaching fast, “Lights Out” and its sinister enjoyability deliver a first heavy-hitting taste of Lil Comp of Horrors.
