Veteran Fool’s Gold duo Oliver announce breakup
In electronic music, it’s not uncommon for artists to go dark without much advance notice. Plus, with such a heavy saturation of producers out there, oftentimes, artists can slip under the radar without raising too many eyebrows. Such is the case with beloved dance duo Oliver, and sadly now the pair have revealed their official disbandment. The veteran Fool’s Gold DJs haven’t released new material under the Oliver moniker in quite some time, and as fan inquiries began to stack up, the group’s Vaughn Oliver took to social media to set the record straight.
For those asking about new music, Oli and I (Vaughn) haven’t worked together in over a year. We still love and respect each other but it wasn’t working out professionally.

I will continue to release music and production here and there under the name but there’s no plans of doing another album/tour or anything on that scale. My focus has been on producing/engineering for other artists.

In their time together, Oliver remixed the likes of Jack Ü, Chromeo, Childish Gambino, Britney Spears, and Madeon among many others, as well as amassing a booming catalog of original works. While the project may still carry on as a solo production, it appears Oliver’s days are now over, leaving behind an impressive body of work that represents dance music’s global mainstream explosion over the last decade.
