Electronic music history for sale as the late Keith Flint’s possessions hit auction
If you’ve always dreamt of wearing Keith Flint of The Prodigy‘s infamous double coned septum ring, this one’s for you. The late Prodigy frontman’s personal belongings are set to be sold at auction later this week.
The collection spans from Flint’s storied musical accouterments to the far more eccentric (like a taxidermy hare with a shotgun in its hands), but overall gives a sense of the legendary performer’s vibrant passions in life.
Martin Millard, the event’s auctioneer says, “The items highlight the difference between Keith’s stage persona and his private life. Valuing items with such provenance is almost impossible, and therefore we will not be publishing any pre-sale estimates, but expect there to be lots to cater to most budgets.”
Highlights among the collection include the samurai sword that Keith wore at his wedding ceremony, a bundle of his mixing gear, his collection of nose rings (used and unused), his collection of vinyls, a slew of motorcross memorabilia (much of it personalized), three MTV Music Awards, and more than enough framed art for the jilted generation.
Just last week, an auction for the late Anthony Bourdain’s personal belongings brought in an estimated $1.85 million. Keith Flint’s auction is scheduled for November 7. View the entire collection and register to live bid at Cheffin’s official website.
