Rage Against The Machine confirm reunion for Coachella 2020

Rage Against The Machine haven’t been seen together in nearly a decade—since their headlining show at the LA Coliseum in 2011, to be exact. However, fans noticed something exciting on the morning of November 1: the band silently announced a string of dates for 2020 on a newly formed Instagram page, including two weekends in Indio, Califorina during the weeks Coachella is set to be hosted. One can only draw the conclusion from there that Rage Against The Machine might have just outed themselves as the festival’s first headliners.

Known for their outspoken political opinions since their formation in 1991, the group has coincidentally scheduled their 2020 tour dates around South Western locales and border towns. The dates also align with the current election cycle, taking during the spring season when campaigning for the next presidential election will be reaching its peak. As Forbes pointed out in their report, Rage Against The Machine’s last reunion tour coincided with the 2008 election, whilst Prophets Of Rage—formed by Cypress Hill’s B-Real, Chuck D from Public Enemy, and Rage’s Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford—came into being around the 2016 election. It seems likely that this tour will also be infused with a hint of the band’s known activism.

Keep watch on Rage Against The Machine’s channels for more details.
