Rob Gronkowski to host Miami rager with Diplo, Kaskade, and more in lieu of 2020 Super Bowl

Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski is leaving his former NFL and Tide Pod glory behind. In its place, he’s taking up arms with some of the most resounding names in the dance music dominion Saturday, February 1.

The former Patriots tight end and prospective future hall of famer’s Super Bowl weekender this coming February won’t be in his usual fashion—by any means. He’s taken on a monster of a sponsor (Monster Energy) to host the one-day beachside merriment, which he’s tagged GRONK BEACH. The festival is bolstered by an artist roundup that seems straight from a pre-game playlist.

As nonsensical as the idea may seem, lineups don’t lie; and this one boasts Diplo, Kaskade, and more outlandish characters like Carnage and locationally appropriate Flo Rida. The assuredly over-the-top production will land at North Beach Bandshell, running approximately 1-7 pm. Tickets go on sale Thursday, here.

The branding is another piece of evidence in the case for electronic music’s pervasive push into omnipresent pop culture in recent years. So much so, that Gronk’s decided to “call an audible” and hang up his cleats for a piece of the off-the-wall dance music dessert.

So move over, Shaq. There’s another sports legend making a run for the festival frontlines.
