‘Cyberpunk 2077’ video game taps Nina Kraviz, Grimes, and more

Upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077, scheduled for an April 16 release on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4, has generated a large amount of hype due to its star-studded cast. Featuring John Wick actor Keanu Reeves as a main character, the RPG game is set in a dystopian future completely permeated by large corporations, robotics, and futuristic digital technology. As any video game fan knows, the soundtrack is an often-overlooked, yet crucial aspect, of any successful game. Take Grand Theft Auto V for example: the eclectic radio stations made the countless hours driving around Los Santos enjoyable, and kept the game play fresh. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red evidently understands this, as the recently announced soundtrack boasts contributions from major names in the music industry spanning across a myriad of genres.

Cyberpunk 2077’s soundtrack contains original music created specifically for the game from Nina Kraviz, Run the Jewels, A$AP Rocky, Refused, and more. Going beyond the music itself, each contributing artist will voice their own unique fictional character or band in the game itself. This talented and diverse group is certain to breathe life into the dystopian Night City the game takes place in. As part of her collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, Grimes will make an appearance as well, as Lizzy Wizzy, an ingame character fashioned from her likeness.
