Man dies from attack suffered at Rolling Loud Los Angeles

Los Angeles authorities are opening an official investigation concerning the attack and subsequent death of 23-year-old man, Kalvin Sanchez during Rolling Loud festival. The hip-hop festival took place at Exposition Park December 14-15.

Sanchez was assaulted at the festival itself on December 14th. He was rushed to the hospital upon enduring serious head injuries. He died four days later from a brain hemorrhage and blunt force head trauma, as determined by the autopsy.

Cell phone footage of several fights found their way to social media. However, the specifics of the assault have not been determined yet. The coroner’s office has deemed the death a homicide.

Sanchez left behind two children—a 3-year-old daughter and 2 month-old son. His family has started a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral costs and other extenuating expenses.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kalvin, who passed away last week,” said a representative for Rolling Loud in response to the news. “Our fans are part of our extended family and their health and safety is our number one priority. The incident is under active investigation by both LAPD and CHP and, as such, we are unable to comment further.”
