Chance The Rapper to host reboot of MTV’s ‘Punk’d’

MTV’s Punk’d returns in 2020, this time chartered by none other than musician and activist, Chance The Rapper. The series reboot is expected to take a 10-minute format on the upcoming mobile video platform Quibi, which debuts in April.

“Punk’d is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises,” says Chance on the opportunity. “I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”

Punk’d reached the peak of its prank-driven glory in the early 2000’s under the tutelage of Ashton Kutcher, before being briefly revitalized in 2012 and 2015. Chance may’ve started as a rapper, and always be one at his core, but it’s clear that the Grammy-winning artist has also secured the earned of Chance the Entertainer and Chance the Philanthropist, as he’s scheduled to receive the UNICEF Chicago Humanitarian Award early this year as well.
