Kaskade and the BROHUG trio have reunited in a throwback to 1990 and one of the most recognized songs of that year with their latest release, “1990” via the former’s Arkade imprint. Paying direct homage to the beloved Snap! lead single, “The Power,” the four producers rework the No. 1 hit into their own hyper-charged house tune. The joint track marks both Kaskade and BROHUG’s first original of 2020 and follows a year filled with consecutive releases for the two acts—finding the “FUN” collaborators coalesce once again.

“1990” samples the iconic hook “I’ve got the power!” into a groove-riddled dance production composed of deep bass and bouncy rhythms. Wielding looped vocal chops and echoing anticipation to build up dramatic tension, the track drops to simplistic four-on-the-floor break replete with blaring synth accessories.

“1990 was an incredible year for music. You couldn’t go into a club, pizzeria, or record store without hearing the iconic song by SNAP! “The Power,” and here we are in 2020 with it still buzzing in the zeitgeist. “1990” is only to be played on the loudest of speakers, and has got the power to stay stuck in your head long after hearing it,” wrote Kaskade and BROHUG.
