Robotaki announces debut LP with ‘Dreamcatcher’ via Foreign Family

Robotaki has released “Dreamcatcher” featuring the soulful vocal poetry from Miko via ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. The single drop came alongside the announcement of Preston Chin’s debut album and North American headline tour, “The Grand Mirage,” live in concert.

Known for crafting electronic soundscapes through experimental R&B grooves, Robotaki continues to feed his newly released sounds with lush sounds, tasteful harmonies, involved percussion arrangements, and an effortless dance between vocalist and their accompanying instrumentation.

After leaving behind a masters degree in cell biology to produce music, Robotaki’s LP attempts to make sense of the bewildering, chaotic reality of a saturated music market. The producer shared his thoughts on the LP’s inaugural release in the track’s description on SoundCloud:

“Accepting other opinions, and other people in your life can help you realize your dreams, not necessarily because they’re directly involved with them per se, but because they can inspire you to live without fear. Someone pursuing their dreams must make decisions out of passion, and to me, a state of passion is instinctive, acting without too much thought. More often than not, we make choices based off of fear without even realizing it. We all have an inner voice that continually coaxes us towards what seems like the right thing to do, rather than what is honest for ourselves, so is that voice really your own? I believe that sometimes we need outside perspectives to protect us from ourselves.”
