Girl Talk is hitting the road for the first time in eight years

Is 2020 the year the mashup resurges? With Girl Talk hitting the road, it very well might be.

Greg Gillis, better known as the laptop-wielding maestro of mashups Girl Talk, is heading out on tour for the first time in eight years this summer. With a hefty handful of dates in his crosshairs, the Pittsburgh-native is primed to canvas the US with stops in San Diego, Dallas, Boston, Seattle, Denver, and Chicago among others. The tour will wrap with a DJ set at Governors Ball in NYC in June.

Girl Talk’s last album, All Day landed in 2010, and while mashups’ trending popularity began to fade shortly thereafter, Girl Talk managed to keep relatively busy since his last outing, working with Wiz Khalifa, Freeway, T-Pain and more in the interim. There’s no word on if the newly announced tour means brand new mashups are underway, though, considering Girl Talk is hitting the stage for the first time in nearly a decade, something tells us he’s bringing more than just his beloved older material with him.
