Amazon temporarily holds CD and vinyl orders to ‘focus on essentials’

In order to “focus on essentials” around the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, which has since been labeled by the WHO as a global pandemic, Amazon has opted to temporarily cease shipment of CD and vinyl orders. Other items like toys and consumer electronics have also been included in this new ruling.

Amazon might not be shipping these product right away, but customers are still able to order with the expectation of a longer wait time. April 15 is the planned lift date of this order, depending on circumstances at the time. Currently, the company has shifted focus to items whose demand has spiked in the wake of COVID-19, such as personal grocery orders, household goods, cleaners, and medical equipment.

USA residents have been encouraged to take advantage of delivery services like Amazon as part of new social distancing recommendations. In addition to keeping at least a 6-foot separation from strangers, it’s also key to maintain heavy handwashing and sanitary home conditions in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
