Pickpocketing accounts for 90 percent of arrests made at EDC Mexico
Mexican authorities made a total of 75 arrests during Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Mexico‘s 2020 iteration at the Hermanos Rodríguez Racetrack. Officials arrested 68 pickpockets and seven additional individuals who were allegedly selling drugs onsite. Approximately 200 doses of what police presume to be psychotropic substances were confiscated over the course of the weekend. Despite a handful of drug arrests, pickpocketing accounted for more than 90 percent of the arrests on site over the course of the weekend.
A total of 287,522 festival goers attended EDC Mexico, held February 28-March 1. The event’s 2020 lineup featured a range of electronic talent including Armin van Buuren, Sasha, Zedd, Wax Motif, and more.
