Skream drops collection of dubstep material from the vault on Bandcamp, ‘Unreleased Classics Vol. 1’

There wouldn’t be dubstep the way we know it without Skream. Largely responsible for the early development and popularization of the genre, the “Midnight Request Line” producer has since moved into other sonic territories, though recently fellow UK dubstep figurehead Plastician found an old collection of long forgotten dubstep cuts from Skream. The collection spans more than a decade, though for now, Skream has uploaded part of the collection of previously unreleased music, offering on Unreleased Classics Vol. 1: 2002-2003 Bandcamp.

The 8-track album contains a myriad of pieces from Skream’s coveted ID vault. Featuring tracks such as “Kontrast,” “Konga,” and “Oh My Gosh,” the first installment of Skream’s Unreleased Classics series is a testament to the venerated producer’s longevity, and just how instrumental he was in creating the basis of some of today’s hardest sounds.
