Ultra Miami ticketholders informed no refunds available following cancellation

Early morning on March 10, ticketholders to Ultra Music Festival‘s 2020 edition in Miami received an email blast from the festival regarding refunds for their purchases that had now gone to waste. They soon learned that refunds, in fact, weren’t on the table, and were unlikely to ever be.

Instead, Ultra gave buyers several options. Their 2020 tickets, for example, could be used at either the 2021 edition or the 2022 edition. Organizers also added a “value package” to the tickets, including perks like an exclusive main stage performance, and discounts off of a new “premium GA” upgrade, additional tickets, or Ultra merchandise.

Backlash began swirling across social media immediately upon the email’s receipt, with fans expressing their dismay over lost money and the fairness of the process. Ultra’s ticket policy covers this in small print, stating that the festival may chose an “alternative” package as opposed to monetary refunds in the event of cancellation.
