Kygo releases stunning melodic gem, ‘Freedom,’ featuring Zak Abel
It’s almost time for Kygo’s Golden Hour, his third studio album, as he drops another colorful melodic gem, “Freedom,” featuring an impassioned vocal performance from Zak Abel. In Kygo’s signature style, he uses the singer’s wide vocal range to compose an infectious melody that drives the song through the stunningly beautiful hook that sounds like pure joy.
In the midst of COVID-19, the Norwegian piano star released an appropriately quarantined music video directed by Johannes Lovund. The video was supposed to take place in the Maldives, but due to unforeseen circumstances, Kygo and Zak filmed it from their homes to support the #StayAtHome movement with activities such as playing music, cooking, playing video games, and juggling toilet paper.
Golden Hour will be Kygo’s first full-length since 2017, turning in back-to-back singles in the process. Previous releases include “I’ll Wait” with songstress Sasha Sloan and the lead Golden Hour delivery, “Like It Is,” with Zara Larsson and Tyga.
