Baauer releases widescreen visual feature for ‘AETHER’ [Watch]
In what could be construed as an artistic reflection of global anxiety, Baauer has debuted a cinematic, animated music video for his latest single, “AETHER.”
Given the special genre of “leftfield bass” by Beatport, the second single from the producer’s highly anticipated sophomore LP, PLANET’S MAD, is a dark trap cut characterized by non-conventional breakbeats, its fluid tempo, and distorted synths.
Directed by Los Angeles-based experimental studio Actual Objects, the music video for the single is a thrilling four minute snippet in the narrative Baauer has created about the near-destruction and resurrection of Earth at the hands of extraterrestrials. Baauer—as expected—is the feature’s protagonist as he connects with the unexpected guests in his latest audio visual spectacle.
