Kim Petras has released her second single of 2020, “Malibu”—a peachy summer hit just as much of the country has had enough of their time indoors. It’s May, and those summer feels are right around the corner, so the German singer/songwriter offers up a shiny retro pop anthem with her catchy vocals taking center stage as usual. Through a filter of sunny guitar riffs and a groovy bass line, the track is perfect for everything from poolside day sipping and grilling to pillow fights and impromptu home music videos.

This year, Petras released the emotive “Reminds Me,” and previously released her TURN OFF THE LIGHTS Halloween album—a stellar electro-pop/synth-wave amalgamation that emulates the gut-wrenching synths of electronic cohorts like Gesaffelstein and Justice. Her eclectic array of styles are shown throughout these three distinct pieces, as Petras brings it year round, appropriately showcasing her music with the times.
