Excision and Downlink add impact to the electronic release ring with ‘Resistance’

Many things are good in moderation, but bass isn’t one of them. That’s precisely Excision and Downlink‘s ethos on “Resistance,” a record that adds to the producers’ collaborative resume. With several joint projects in their back pockets, Excision and Downlink are hardly strangers, and the guarantee of raucous bass that was evinced on their past productions extends to “Resistance.”

An exposé of the bass-assisted force that ensues when Excision and Downlink affix their names to a track, “Resistance” romps for nearly five minutes. It’s riot-catalyzing, a cut made for the most fervent of mosh pits, and it’s undoubtedly familiar to Excision and Downright fans alike. The collaboration is notable for serving as the introduction to the producers’ back-to-back set at Lost Lands 2018, and in the two years that have followed its debut, it’s clear that “Resistance” has not forfeited any of its firepower.
