Kaskade shares house soother, ‘When I’m With You’
All year, Kaskade has kept his foot on the gas with a nonstop deluge of singles. The veteran producer’s 2020 work shows that he has maintained his tremendous range, with tracks varying from bass house (see “POW POW POW” with Chemical Surf) to deep house (“Feel It“).
Featuring Colette, Kaskade’s latest track, “When I’m With You,” harkens back to the early days of his career in more ways than one. Colette’s vocals melt into a dreamy melodic house arrangement that is driven by ultra-smooth chords. Calming elements slowly move in and out of the soundscape, evoking the porcelain sound of Kaskade’s seminal productions.
“When I’m With You” also issues a nod to Kaskade’s introductory years in the electronic scene at Om Records, the imprint where Kaskade developed his sound many years prior. The single will accordingly appear on Om Records‘ 25th anniversary compilation, Om Records–25 Years, due on July 10, 2020.
