Carnage’s Heavyweight Records releases ‘Lockdown EP’
Carnage’s Heavyweight Records comes correct with a massive EP filled with top-notch bass music curated entirely during a live demo session on Twitch. Aptly titled the “Lockdown EP,” Carnage’s label throws bass haymakers on this six-track pressing that runs the gamut of bass music. From 2AM & Elusion’s bone-shaking “Down” to the machine gun snares of Fito Silva’s “Indian Riddim” and Steez’s mean and mechanical “To The Face.” The back half of the EP changes things up. “Hit a Lick” delivers hip-hop influenced drops by Freaky x Hay! and Elle’s “Ah Shit” shows up as one of the few melodic tracks on the output, but quickly flips the script into something menacing. The closing track, Zoobstool’s “Block Huggaz” makes for a heavy-hitting, apocalyptic finale — one that is fitting for the current state of the world.
