David Guetta dons Jack Back house alias for spin on Joel Corry’s ‘Head & Heart’
Amid pioneering the “future rave” movement alongside MORTEN and giving wings to their joint EP, New Rave, David Guetta found time to switch hats for a Jack Back spin on Joel Corry’s MNEK feature, “Head & Heart.”
After staking claim in his and MORTEN’s amorphous yet distinctive brand of future rave underground sound, it’s good to once again see Guetta flex his dynamism by swiftly switching sonic gears to go house. Guetta’s latest output under his house-driven Jack Back alias comes nearly four months after his last offering under the alternative name, his spin on Elephant Heart’s “Africa.”
Boasting Back’s characteristic house flair, the rework is indubitably dance worthy and well-placed synths add a world of animated difference to Corry’s standout original. If “Head & Heart” was originally for the car, then Back’s spin is for the club, upping the ante on the cut’s movement-catalyzing character.
