Diplo and Joji connect on catchy new pop crossover, ‘Daylight’
88rising and Mad Decent come together as Diplo and Joji convene on a brand new single, “Daylight.” The new collaboration finds Diplo providing a smooth production backdrop for Joji’s sultry vocal work, rounding out as an ultra-catchy pop piece that has serious summer airplay potential. Joji already has a solid track record for crossover appeal in dance music, but with a little help from Diplo, the pair seem to have a fledging hit on their hands.
Primed more for poolside playlists than pregames, “Daylight” offers another side to Diplo’s endlessly multi-faceted game, landing amid an array of summer projects for the Higher Ground helmer. Between Thomas Wesley material, his digital Fortnite residency, and even appearing in a virtual fundraiser for Joe Biden, Diplo is keeping his foot on the gas in 2020, coming through with Joji in tow on his latest.
