Dusky turns in rave-fueled edit of JT Company’s, ‘Don’t Deal With Us’
Dusky revisits 90’s house in their newest edit of JT Company’s classic production, “Don’t Deal With Us.” Premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac, the breakbeat anthem has been a frequent choice in the London duo’s sets, notably featured as the staple closing track during their XOYO residency. The release follows Dusky’s remix of 9th House’s “Lyra” and their EP, Life Signs Vol. 2.
Reworking the Italo house with old-school rave elements, Dusky imbue their trademark qualities of euphoria-driven synths and heavy-hitting drums into the upbeat tune. Weaving interchangeably through rhythmic play, the essential piano riff shines as the core melody as falsettos and percussive embellishments layer up the house tune, injecting a raw warehouse-ready energy into the original.
