Today might as well be declared a holiday for bass heads. Why? The mastermind behind Lost Lands and Bass Canyon just dropped an entire remix package for his collaborative EP with Wooli, Evolution. Excision and Wooli’s joint project was one of the biggest releases of 2019 and included the wildly popular dubstep hit, “Lockdown,” which is still being spun almost daily in fellow DJs’ livestreams. Now, with the entire four-track project getting the remix treatment, it’s inevitable that all of Evolution’s tunes will resurface for the foreseeable future.

Evolution (The Remixes) sees some of bass music’s biggest stars rework each of Excision and Wooli’s track listings. Featuring eight remixes from Kompany, Ray Volpe, SampliFire, MUST DIE!, Hairitage, Hi I’m Ghost, Calcium, and Whales, the remix package is nothing but heat from beginning to end. Standout songs on the EP include MUST DIE!’s take on “Another Me,” Ray Volpe’s remix of “Oxygen,” and Hairitage’s flip of “Lockdown.” Stream the collection of remixes below.
