Innocent romance meets old school rave in Godford’s newest single, ‘Saw You’

With his identity kept a mystery, long-time musician Godford steps back and allows his productions to define his artistic image. Although this approach may fall flat with more generic approaches to dance music, Godford’s electronic compositions are make it work with their abundance of sonic personality.

His latest track, “Saw You,” is a kinetic and charismatic multi-purpose heater that’s as prime for getting things done around the house as it is closing out a set after an all-night affair. Godford admits to walking the line between innocent romance and the classic rave sounds in his productions, but really finds the sweet spot in that dynamic with the stripped down, analog approach to the new single. Clocking in at a blistering 140 BPM, “Saw You” may seem a bit much at first, but rather than using its driving tempo for peak energy, Godford repurposes it to lift the spirits of his listeners.

“Saw You” is one of the lead singles from Godford’s debut LP, Non Binary Place. The full album hits the streets September 18 through Pack Records, but “Saw You” is available in full form below.
