No masks worn, social distancing guidelines followed at Lake of the Ozarks Borgeous show

John Borger, known by his stage name, Borgeous, is the most recent in a steady stream of musicians to come under fire for playing a show that did not adhere to social distancing guidelines. Joining the likes of The Chainsmokers and Kaskade, Borgeous has been the subject of criticism following the circulation of footage of the crowd gathered at his August 1 show at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. In the video, shared via @hybridtrapmusic, attendees can be seen standing shoulder-to-shoulder, not wearing masks or abiding by social distancing guidelines of any kind. The footage has since triggered outrage on social platforms, but Borgeous has not released a statement or commented on the event.

Although this is not the first music event where organizers have openly disregarded social distancing guidelines, it is also not the first time a Lake of the Ozarks party has been critiqued for putting health and safety behind the desire for a good time. An aerial photo of a packed Memorial Day pool party in the popular Missouri party destination also sparked disapproval when it circulated in May.
