Party Favor places kicking drum ‘n’ bass spin on ‘Blinding Lights’

“Blinding Lights” has proved to be a re-imaginative hotbed, attracting remixes from Major Lazer, Chromatics, a bootleg from Netsky, and now, another rework, courtesy of Party Favor. Despite the slew of alternative versions of “Blinding Lights” that have emerged in recent months, THE ISOLATION ALBUM-maker’s spin on the After Hours inclusion is innovative, and goes where most of the previously released remixes have not: drum ‘n’ bass ground.

Many ears might not have heard the potential for a drum ‘n’ bass makeover upon listening to The Weeknd‘s viral original, but Party Favor did and deftly executes the unexpected conversion. Whereas Party Favor’s sonic direction was somewhat unanticipated, the release of the novel flip was not. “Blinding Lights (Party Favor Remix)” was a sought-after staple of the producer’s performance at his headlining virtual event, Party Favor Presents: Isolation, presented in partnership with Dancing Astronaut. That Party Favor would soon release the revamp after using the digital festival as a platform for debut? A no-brainer. Enjoy it below.
