Set off on an interstellar adventure with the new Avicii video game
Following his tragic and untimely passing in 2018, there have been many unique and thoughtful tributes for beloved Swedish DJ/producer Avicii, including a church service set entirely to Avicii songs, a tribute concert with performances from artists like Kygo and David Guetta, and now, a second iteration of the original Avicii-themed video game.
In a newly-released demo for AVICII Invector: Encore Edition, players fly through outer space, hitting notes and targets, all set to a soundtrack of Avicii’s greatest hits. The demo is currently available at no cost on the Nintendo Switch.
AVICII Invector: Encore Edition, to be released in full on Sepember 8, is a follow-up to an earlier version of AVICII Invector and a precursor to the full game. New features will include expanded, never-before-seen levels and additional Avicii tracks for players to choose from, including “Seek Bromance,” “My Feelings For You,” “SOS,” “Freak,” and more.
25 percent of all profits from the new game will be given to the Tim Bergling Foundation, a charity created by Avicii’s family to support scientists and medical professionals working in the mental health field, specifically those focused on suicide prevention.
