Slow Magic releases lush, emotive EP, ‘Closer 2 U’
Masked essence Slow Magic released his Closer 2 U EP through Moving Castle shortly after lead singles, “Somewhere” with Shallou featuring Woven In Hiatus, and “Closer 2 U” with Manila Killa, hit streaming platforms.
The synth-laden soundscapes featured on the EP offer an ode to the importance of connection through lush textures, running melodies, and hypnotizing production. The EP’s namesake track, featuring Moving Castle mainstay, Manila Killa, offers more of an interplay between percussion, vocal chops, and Slow Magic’s production specialties.
“Heartbeat / Helicopter” and “Wild” complete the four-track project’s well-rounded palette with an echoing film-end-credits-feeling, allowing listeners to soak in the immersive listening experience.
In a press release, the producer said,
“Closer 2 U represents the difficulties of distance and the importance of connection. I want this EP to encourage and inspire people to reach out to the ones they care about in a time where we are all feeling distant.”
