SVDDEN DEATH and SLANDER share first collaboration, ‘Blood On Me’

Following their highly anticipated inaugural back-to-back livestream in May, Derek Andersen and Scott Land of SLANDER and Danny Howland of SVDDEN DEATH have officially released their debut collaboration, “Blood On Me.” In recent years, the two parties have shown themselves to be rising stars in the bass music scene, launching tours and securing headlining spots at festivals like EDC Las Vegas. According to Andersen and Land, a collaboration has been in the cards since sharing the stage with Howland on last year’s Alchemy Tour, which also featured Seven Lions, NGHTMRE, and The Glitch Mob.

“Blood on Me” fuses SVDDEN DEATH’s signature pounding bass and wonky melodies with SLANDER’s more subdued production sensibilities. A contrast to other recent releases from Andersen and Land, “Blood On Me” proves the duo’s ability to skirt the boundaries between hard-hitting dubstep and tear-jerking melodic tracks, like their 2019 hit, “Love is Gone,” featuring Dylan Matthew.

“Blood On Me” is both expected and surprising, luring the listener in with a soft flute melody and chilling vocals before plunging headfirst into a heavy bassline. The track was released on August 21 via NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s label, Gud Vibrations.
