Hudson Mohawke drops third album in six weeks, ‘Airborne Lard’
There is absolutely no stopping Hudson Mohawke in 2020. At the start of August, the seasoned producer shared B.B.H.E., a surprise LP comprising tracks that HudMo had stashed away over the years, including quarantine. A few weeks later, Mohawke shared his second surprise album, Poom Gems. Now, he’s back with his “final chapter from the vaults for now,” Airborne Lard.
Airborne Lard opens with “Be Ur Fantasy,” an inspiring trap track centered around vintage Mohawke horn synths. From there, the LP delves into the chaos we’ve come to expect from HudMo’s recent album series. Tracks like “3_2” and “Bloody Marshmellow” show Mohawke at his most frenetic, while more traditionally structured cuts like “Furnace Loop” and “Cyrpress Phil” strike a balance between accessibility and absurdity.
Airborne Lard has been released via Warp Records, and features artwork from Cali Thornhill Dewitt.
