Kygo renews the late Donna Summer’s 1979 disco hallmark, ‘Hot Stuff’

Kygo and abiding No. 1 classics have fleetly formed an inextinguishable bond between revivals of Whitney Houston’s unreleased vocals on “Higher Love” and the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It.” Tacking onto his overgrown musical registry this year, including the delivery of Golden Hour in May, the newly turned 29-year-old is annexing a third recreation of a chart-topping smash with a new version of Donna Summer’s 1979 classic, “Hot Stuff.”

Now trying his hand at the Queen of Disco’s indelible, Grammy Award-winning emblem, the tropical house veteran relocates the Giorgio Moroder-produced single into the 21st century as the summer cycle enters its final days. Kygo trades out the original disco-oriented climate to bring “Hot Stuff” right into his tropical wheelhouse, as he effortlessly goes three for three in restoring some of music’s most prestigious works. The Norwegian icon dove into his desire to adapt the number one hit, stating,

“Donna Summer is one of my favorite artists of all time. Her catalogue of music is brilliant and her vocals are unmatched. I am honored and humbled to get to work on an iconic track like “Hot Stuff”. This has always been one of those songs that instantly puts me in a good mood and I hope that this version can continue to bring joy and happiness to people who want to celebrate the legendary Donna Summer.”
