Lane 8’s ‘Brightest Lights’ receives enormous remix pack

At this point, the only thing more surprising than This Never Happened‘s (TNH’s) hyper-prolific release pace is the upstanding quality that the label has managed to maintain. Lane 8‘s imprint has made headlines seemingly constantly this year, a trend that continues now with a gigantic remix package for the label boss’ seminal LP, Brightest Lights.

Following Lane 8’s original release in January, Brightest Lights Remixed features two dozen producers who offer new takes on the record’s tracks. The expansive guest list features the likes of Ben Böhmer, Avoure, Qrion, Dirty South, and so many more. Frequent TNH producers like Paraleven and Jerro contribute expectedly excellent remixes as several newbies make stunning debuts. For example, CloZee‘s typical downtempo, bass-driven sound is a far cry from TNH’s melodic house, but she exhibits her boundless talent by fitting into the label’s pocket seamlessly on Brightest Lights Remixed, all while maintaining hints of her personal eclectic sound.

As the fall equinox has come and gone, Lane 8’s fall mixtape will surely be on the way soon, but this two-hour record should be enough to hold over even the most restless fan. If it still isn’t enough, listen to Lane 8’s recent sunrise set, performed from a pontoon on Colorado’s Grand Lake.
