Mr. Eazi and Major Lazer release dancehall heater, ‘Oh My Gawd,’ featuring Nicki Minaj, K4MO
Nigerian singer Mr. Eazi and Major Lazer have teamed up with Nicki Minaj and vocalist K4MO for a dancehall twerker, “Oh My Gawd.”
The single, to be released on Mr. Eazi’s forthcoming EP, Something Else, arrived with a dance video that notes that the official music video will soon debut. The dance video, directed by Alex Adjei and choreographed by Patience J, opens with Mr. Eazi showing up to a wild house party.
In a press release, Mr. Eazi stated,
“This record was really fun to make. And it’s crazy how it went from hearing a K4mo intro in the studio with Fred Again, to me jumping on it and then Diplo hopping in! And Walshy hitting me up to say it’s a banger—next thing Nicki is on it! Been a journey really, like two years in the making, and I can’t wait to perform it at my next festival!”
With a swinging groove and running synths placed alongside smooth-saying toplines from the single’s grip of talented vocalists, the Mad Decent track drives towards uncontrollable hip- and body-swinging, even for those of us trying to hide our enthusiasm at work.
“Oh My Gawd” is hardly Eazi’s first work of the 2020 calendar year. The producer has released singles throughout the year, teaming up with African talent such as DaVido and artists from his emPawa Africa program on his One Day You Will Understand project. Meanwhile, Major Lazer are on the heels of their forth album, Lazerism, which is set to follow their 2015 classic, Peace Is the Mission.
