Oliver Heldens recruits Funkin Matt for melodic club cut, ‘Somebody’
In 2020 alone, Oliver Heldens‘ output has been matched by few, with the global superstar unveiling yet another single. Keeping in tune with his persevering release streak, the Dutch DJ enlists Funkin Matt and vocal duo Bright Sparks for the deployment of his latest track, “Somebody.” Preceded by Helden’s remix of “Tear It Up,” “Break This Habit,” and “Zeus,” the collaborative tune finds the future house pioneer breaking into more melodic territories.
Dropping via Heldeep Records, “Somebody” amalgamates sultry undertones, driving rhythms, and an intoxicating hook in a club-primed production. Illustrated with dusky sonics, the track shines with synergetic tradeoffs between imploring vocals and a buzzing bassline melody as it ventures into a darker, tech-influenced subset of house.
