SoundCloud directs listeners to the polls with new ‘Turn Up the Vote’ initiative

As the United States election approaches, many corporations and brands are launching initiatives to encourage citizens to get out and vote. Multiple music industry titans have already gotten involved, with Atlantic Records, Sony Music Group, and Spotify, among others, all announcing their own unique efforts to fuel the push toward the polls. Now, SoundCloud is joining in on the action, launching the “Turn Up the Vote” initiative on September 21.

A partnership with the non-profit voter registration organization, HeadCount, Turn Up the Vote is Soundcloud’s self-described first “nonpartisan, pro-democracy” initiative targeting the platform’s extensive American audience. The initiative’s homepage, which can be found here, walks voters through their given state’s specific voter registration process.

Ads for the project will go live on SoundCloud’s platforms beginning in October. With SoundCloud boasting an overwhelmingly youthful user-base of more than 76 million Generation Z individuals, this campaign is a timely way to get first-time voters ready for this year’s election.
