CamelPhat perform BBC Essential Mix from empty Printworks venue

The live entertainment sector has been and remains one of the industries hit hardest by COVID-19. As venues cope with mounting financial pressures, many are beginning to fold. These closures, coupled with industry-wide insolvency, have provided the basis for the Save Our Stages Act proposed to American legislators.

In the latest Essential Mix, BBC Radio 1 turns the focus to one of London’s most beloved venues, Printworks, in an effort to help spotlight shuttered music sites. CamelPhat assume mixing duties for the latest Essential installment, delivering their set from an empty Printworks.

CamelPhat’s Essential Mix from the storied halls of the London hotspot is a “tribute to all of the amazing nighttime spaces around the world that we’re missing right now,” according to BBC’s Pete Tong. The Liverpudlian duo’s two-hour mix is full of high-energy dance tracks that befit the venue; all that’s missing is the crowd. Watch the beginning of the mix below, or check out the full mix here
