CamelPhat unveil new single ‘Witching Hour’ ahead of forthcoming debut album
CamelPhat have announced their long-awaited debut album Dark Matter, set to land October 30 via RCA. Gearing up for the release, the British duo has tapped newcomer Will Easton for the first single. Titled “Witching Hour,” the new club-minded collaboration delivers heavy-hitting kicks and intoxicating momentum as it fuses the best of both acts’ respective production styles. The 21-track Dark Matter will feature an extensive cast of guest artists including Jem Cooke, ARTBAT, Eli & Fur, Skream, Cristoph, Noel Gallagher, and more.
Previewing the forthcoming LP, “Witching Hour” sets the mood with ominous sound effects, immediately laying down a spell-binding bassline, stabbing synth leads, and orchestral backdrop before pulling back to a minimalistic beat. Intermingling crescendoing melodies and shadowy breakdowns among warehouse-primed drum lines, the track progresses with its incisive arpeggiator hook through dark-toned layers and spectral hi-hats, showcasing an expert maneuver of signature tech-house from CamelPhat.
