DROELOE announce the duo is splitting up

Vincent Rooijers and Hein Hamers, better known as DROELOE, have announced they are officially splitting up. The duo have long focused separately on the functions of the group, spearheading the music and visual side of things respectively. The group cited differing creative ambitions as the primary driver of the split, and noted that this is a mutual agreement.

While the two long-time collaborators may not be working under the same title anymore, DROELOE will continue. Rooijers will continue to release music under the DROELOE name, while Hamers will continue making visual art on a multitude of projects. In their personal letter announcing the split, both artists thanked their fans and expressed gratitude for the journey while. Additionally, Hamers helped further explain the reason for the split:

“This isn’t a decision we take lightly and we completely understand that this might come as a chock for people. However, we both think it’s the best thing for us to do to further stimulate both of our individual growth.”

The announcement comes just days after DROELOE released “Roadside Flowers” preceding their incoming anthology album. Read Rooijers and Hamers’ full statements below.
