DROELOE tease new single, ‘Roadside Flowers,’ from upcoming anthology album
Gliding in as their sixth release of 2020, “Roadside Flowers” reminds fans that the two have only just begun their fruitful run, while reasserting DROELOE’s evident appeal. The track begins with a soft yet intense build up into the pair’s customary dreamlike vocal signature, before bursting into a compilation of dynamic synth layers. This new release swiftly coasts from a somber into bombastic tonality and back again, fluidly guiding the energy from confining to unyielding. “Roadside Flowers” is a clear testament to just how far DROELOE has come since their emergence in 2016, as well as a glimpse into their scintillating future.
A Matter of Perspective, which will be released via San Holo’s bitbird imprint is a compilation of the duo’s previous three EPs as well as seven never-before-heard tracks. Including their bass-toned buzzers, “Open Blinds” and “Sunburn (Reimagined),” the forthcoming album combines a variety of electronic styles, including pop, hip-hop, classical instrumentals, dubstep, and more. Longtime fans of bitbird are acutely in tune the limitless scope of diversity that comes from the label’s releases, and this album proves to be no different.
While one half of DROELOE, Vincent Rooijers, has been focusing on curating the duo’s beguiling musical stylings, the other half of the duo, Hein Hamers, focuses mainly on mesmerizing digital art to accompany the selections. In addition to their upcoming new music, the pair has plans to set up virtual art gallery experiences. In this space, fans will be able to create their own DROELOE story by collecting their favorite scenes from rendered photographs to be compiled in whichever way fans prefer.
DROELOE’s inventiveness and artistic execution is a unique addition to the dance music scene, and it’s clear their imaginative range sees no end in sight. Stream “Roadside Flowers” below and pre-order A Matter Of Perspective here.
