Coming out of Compton, Channel Tres‘ star has been on a steep upward trajectory since his emergence, and now he’s back with his second original solo track of 2020, “Skate Depot.” Named for the roller rink where he once cut his teeth in Cerritos, California, the new “Skate Depot” video finds Channel Tres in his bag, delivering his beloved brand of rap-house while skating his cares away.
After throwing himself into a wide variety of musical ventures, such as producing works from the likes of DUCKWRTH and Kehlani, to touring as a DJ, to directing, Tres dipped his toe in multiple aspects of the industry before finally making his way into his ultimate ambition, writing and producing his own music for the masses. Following his other releases from this year with Robyn, SG Lewis, Disclosure and more, the syncopated hip-house master shows no signs of slowing down.
“Skate Depot” tracks Tres’ characteristically funky, yet modern groove that collides effortlessly with his dreamy, low-key vocal stylings. Channel Tres is adored for his subtle and laid-back tone that allows for the airy, cruise control type of feel that comes through perfectly on “Skate Depot.”
