Illenium taps Just A Gent, LNY TNZ, Ray Volpe, MOTi for second round of ‘Nightlight’ remixes
Illenium‘s first solo single since Ascend, “Nightlight” continues to burn bright with a second wave of remixes that solicits revisions from Just A Gent, LNY TNZ, Ray Volpe, and MOTi. This second edition of edits trails the first volume, which saw YULTRON, Michael Calfan, and Kaivon decisively press “pause” on their original endeavors to draft respective re-imaginations.
As was the case on volume one, Just A Gent, LNY TNZ, Ray Volpe, and MOTi make the sonics of “Nightlight” their own to put forth spins that mold the single into something familiar yet enticingly foreign. Diversity proves a musical motif on the four-cut collection: Just A Gent dishes out dub, LNY TNZ takes a hardstyle course, Volpe ventures into melodic dubstep, and all the while, MOTi can be found flirting with synth-led house.
Evidencing the malleable character of “Nightlight,” Nightlight (The Remixes Vol. 2) offers fresh outlooks on an original that embodies some of Illenium’s own “favorite sounds,” the producer told Dancing Astronaut in an interview.
