ilo ilo provides a throwback remix to Jai Wolf’s ‘Moon Rider’
Phantoms had the first crack at remixing Jai Wolf‘s most recent single, and now ilo ilo step up for their take on “Moon Rider.” Jai Wolf calls ilo ilo’s remix a “FutureSex/LoveSounds-era flip, ” complete with Timberlake/Timbaland-esque synth stabs and an un-mistakable groove. Wrabel’s falsetto melody is the cherry on top for anyone missing the “Sexy Back” sound of the mid-2000s.
“Moon Rider’s” remix comes following the duo’s first installation in their Dream Tapes series in September. As previously mentioned, Phantoms gave “Moon Rider” the four-on-the-floor treatment earlier the week of October 12, chopping up the vocals for a pop-inspired deep house beat. “Moon Rider” was Jai Wolf’s first single following his 2019 debut LP The Cure To Loneliness.
