Matt Medved buoyantly translates Kane Brown’s country-pop crossover ‘Be Like That’ to dance [Stream]
In the two years that succeeded Matt Medved‘s celebrated spin on Marshmello and Bastille‘s “Happier,” one reality became incontrovertibly clear: a sonic encore was in order. That sophomore re-imaginative outing arrives courtesy of Kane Brown’s country-pop crossover, “Be Like That.”
The output of Medved’s conceptual push to “create a soundtrack for the summer that we all wish we could have had,” the remix tastefully translates the Swae Lee and Khalid feature into the electronic format. Shedding the slow flow of the original, Medved’s take taps into an upbeat brand of piano-led commercial house that maintains the laidback, hair down and hands in the air personality of his “Happier” rework.
Impressing his buoyant sonic signature on a project that touts the talents of three artists he’s “long admired,” Medved makes a welcome return to the release ring. Stream the remix below.
