Premiere: Petit Biscuit reveals behind-the-scenes look at ‘Drivin Thru The Night’

After announcing his sophomore LP Parachute at the top of the month, Petit Biscuit has shared an intimate look at the making of the video for the project’s lead single, “Drivin Thru The Night,” in addition to an acoustic rendition of the one-off. The former is available exclusively via Dancing Astronaut.

The music video for the inaugural Parachute offering premiered on September 9. The “Drivin Thru The Night” package proved complete with a cinematic and suspenseful music video that followed Biscuit as he made his exit from a mysterious night at the club, escaped a strange follower, and found shelter at the skyline. Biscuit said the visual spectacle

“…is first about freedom. A lonely man is wandering through the streets, living how he wants and going where he wants until he finds his lonely alter ego…You can live and exist by yourself. You don’t need anyone else. I’ve been writing all the lyrics in Iceland, where I was isolated for months. I was missing my loved ones but at the same time, I didn’t feel any pressure from anyone.”

Biscuit offers Dancing Astronaut readers an exclusive look at how the visual came to be in a new behind-the-scenes visual that chronicles the video’s crafting. The two-minute long display illustrates everything from scenery to hair and makeup, as well as what “Drivin Thru The Night” looked like from the director’s chair.

In addition to the insider access, Biscuit created a masterful acoustic version of the track, visually set to brightly colored skyscrapers on the horizon. Seeing the skilled piano player apply his classically-trained background to a dance track will come as no surprise to seasoned Biscuit fans, and should hold fans over until Parachute arrives on October 30.
