Spose unites JAY-Z’s ‘The Black Album’ with The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Mellon Collie’ in new mashup album
A new mashup contender has emerged. Fusing JAY-Z‘s famed The Black Album with The Smashing Pumpkins‘ iconic 1995 release, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Spose has unveiled the 14-track project that resulted from the marriage of sounds, Marcy Project And The Infinite Sadness. Revisiting Hova’s 2003 record, the Maine-hailing rapper and producer reproduces the entire track list, exclusively using music from the esteemed alternative outfit’s album.
Marrying hip-hop verses with rock, the project pairs “99 Problems” with “Porcelina of the Vast Oceans,” “Dirty Off Your Shoulder” with “Eye,” and “Encore” with “X.Y.U.,” and more. Spose’s release is the most recent mashup of JAY-Z’s The Black Album, with Danger Mouse sampling The Beatles‘ The White Album for his 2004 mashup rendition, The Grey Album.

I’m not sure how long this will exist before it gets taken down but I re-produced the entire “Black Album” by my favorite rapper Jay-Z using only music by my favorite band The Smashing Pumpkins, enjoy!!!
